Hi Ann,
It's very possible that the input mask wizard is damaged.
See the following to locate the .mde file where the Input Mask Wizard
resides
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;208307
Replace it with a copy from the one on your Office 2000 CD.
If that doesn't work take a look at the resolutions in
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;303769
Particulary method 4 & 5.
