Initializing old system

I have an old system I purchased from my former employer which I am trying
to make usable.

The system was running NT 4.0 - its a 2Ghz cpu, 2 G of ram, 20 G disk old
but top of the line hardware.

I need to install XP Pro so I can use IIS

The problem started when the C drive was partitioned for only 2 G and the
new system would not fit.

DiskManager spent about 4 hours repartitioning the C drive last night to
come up with a 'can't complete format' message and leaving the partition in
RAW format.

Right now I want to totally wipe the disk, repartition, and install the new
OS.

This seems to be non-supported operation.

If your computer will boot to the CD-rom you put in your xp disk, restart
the computer, boot to the XP disk and follow the prompts. All the tools for
formatting and installing are on the disk. If it doesn't boot to the cd,
there is a file you can download from Microsoft that lets you make 6 floppy
disks that do it too. Search for WinXP_EN_PRO_BF.EXE.

OK,

Got that far, now I'm stuck on the 'insert valid windows cd' The
distribution disks I have don't satisfy it.

Bob

Then you are going to have to buy a RETAIL version with a valid install key!

Must be an upgrade disk then. you would need to put in a win 98 disk so it
can verify you qualify for the upgrade to xp.
