Hi can you swapp a windows 2000 pro hrad drive between
2 diffrent computers (I mean diffrent computers).
lost a compaq p3 700
moatherboard fried water pipe spill.
new machine genaric p4 2.4
Hard drive looks good (maybe)
can you just swapp the hard drive.

Hi,

If your HDD is shorted, you run the risk of frying
another MoBo. Actually you can turn you oven on
warm, then turn it off and place the HDD in it over
night (just make sure it's not hotter than you can
stand to hold the shelf, and someone doesn't turn
the oven on in the morning without looking. Ah, a
sign taped to the door. In room temp. you can also
place in from of a small fan and let it run a day
or over night.

Then install it by changing the jumpers to use as
the Primary slave. That means the present one stays
at the end of the ribbon cable.
