Info about the new chips coming shortly?

Hello,

A link was sent about the new AMD chips coming out next month and I'm very
curious. Has Tom's or anyone done any reviews of the x2 5000 AM2 or any of
the other chips. I realize they won't hit the street for another month but
often reviews are available in advance.

I just found an article in anandtech - basically says not to expect any
improvement between the 939 and the AM2 4800. I guess my only hope is that
they will drastically reduce the price on the 939 4800 and I'll just get the
old cpu.

It is a 939 essentially with a different pin out for the new
socket. Only change is DDR2 support. DDR is going away.

If you want a lot of ram, DDR2 is the way to go. If you
don't want a lot of ram you should go with 754 and save a
lot of money. Socket 754 will be available long after socket
939 has disappeared.
