Infinite Logon Loop

Guest

I have this issue with an exsisting client machin which
was migrated from one domain to another. All went well
until the user logged off and then tried to log back in
all we get is an infinite logon loop. We enter logon
credentials and then it says it is loading the user
settings then it goes back to the ctlr, alt, del to login
screen.

Any ideas would be most helpful,

Steve

Hi,

Start > Settings > System >Advanced[tab] > bottom button >uncheck Automatically reboot
Post the BSOD on the next boot (blue screen)

This often happens when userinit.exe is not accessible,
either because of inappropriate NTFS permissions or because
of some change in the hard disk structure. Use a networked
PC to copy c:\winnt\system32\userinit.exe to the same folder
on all other drives, then fix up its location in the registry here:

KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/
Winlogon/Userinit
