How does one clean up the MBR and boot code in order to remove a
virus/worm infecion?

TIA,
Pete

The virus doesn't reside in the MBR but it can damage it. To get rid of the
virus you should boot into Safe Mode and run your anti-virus software or, if
you don't have any, boot windows in Safe Mode with Networking and run an
online scanner. Once the virus is removed you can run FIXMBR from the
recovery console but ensure you've gotten rid of it first.
