Individual Colours not correctly supported

Hi,

I've changed my background colour from white to some darker colour so my eyes don't get tired too quickly. Some Vista dialogs, like Secured WLAN Connection Pass Phrase, apparently are using a new design having some incorrect rendering with the new colour.

This is just a minor flaw. Just wanted to make a statement for anyone at MS to read and to correct when time's at hand.

you have to switch to "Windows Classic" in Personalization -> Colors and
Appearance-> "show advanced.."
there you can apply every possible colour-scheme and create custom ones,
it's the same Dialog found in Windows 95/98/2000.

the "Vista" and "Aero" themes are more exactly skins that will be applied
over the standard (win98) windows and dialogs, and these cannot be
customized a lot.

There are a lot of nice third-party themes for Vista at www.deviantart.com ,
section "Customization" -> "Skins and Themes" -"Windows Vista" .

Tragically you need to tinker and replace some systemfiles to be able to
apply them, MS uses digitally signatures in XP and Vista to make 3rd party
themes not work. Instructions as how this is to overcome can be found via
google. google for uxtheme.dll and/or themeui.dll and you will find.

Note that you lose all support at Microsoft if you tweak your system this
way.

Just wanted to say it is possible "inofficial", else use the Win98 look and
customize it your way, that is considered safe and supported..

hi Olaf,

I see... Well, it's not such a big issue to me. It just looks unprofessional and I wanted to give a quick hint. But nonetheless thanks for the useful information which was all new to me indeed!

Best regards,
