Can I index just some folders (and all their subfolders) or do I
have to index a whole disk?

Hi Maerko,

As far as I know, it is not configurable in that fashion.

I believe you can (in Service Pack 2 at least) ;)

Right click on the folder you want to index, click Properties, click
Advanced (near Attributes), check "For fast searching, allow Indexing
Service to index this folder".

Uncheck this for all folders you don't want to allow the Indexing
Service to index :)

Yes, you can. It can be configured using the Indexing Service MMC
which is available in the Computer Management console or via the Index
Service MMC. Expand the System Folders, remove the default folder
settings and add the folders you require.
