Indexing for faster searches??

Whenever I use the find tool to search messages in my email folders, the
first results to show are always 5 months old, and then after a few minutes
it will pull older messages, and finally more recent messages.

Is there a way to index the folders for faster searches, or have Outlook it
search more recent messages first, and search older messages last?

Environment: Outlook 2003, Exchange 2003, Cached mode

Dont think you can change the way it searches, one option is to use Lookout

which cuts the time down considerably
