Indexes

How do I create case-insensitive indexes? Do I have to
have two entries for every word in my index, one
capitalized and one not? Thanks.

Do you mean that if a word is capitalized in the text, you would want that
word to appear on the index two times, one time capitalized and another time
in lowercase? If so, then I believe the answer would be yes -- mark the
entry twice under the Index and Tables dialog (Index tab, mark entry). When
the index generates, the same word will appear twice in the index, once as
uppercase and another time as lowercase.

No, he wants the word to appear in the same index entry whether or not it's
capitalized in the text. This is easy enough if the index entry is created
by hand; you just type the XE field exactly the same way every time. If
you're using a concordance file, you have to enter it twice, once with a cap
and once without, in the left column; both entries in the right column
should be lowercased.

Thank you. I am using a concordance file - and I figured the only way to do
it was, as you suggested, use two entries - one capitalized and one not.
