some index suggestions:

-when a new file-extension has been found, let indexing automatically ask if
you want to index this filetype and how (which filter), without having to
reset the whole index
___________________________
-when in the indexing-options a change has been made by the file-extensions,
let only the changed extension being re-indexed. Because now the whole index
restarts, which means you can't search for a long time without having to wait
about 20 hours before the index has been re-made
___________________________
-it sometimes happens a long time ago deleted file is still in the index. is
it plausible to add an option to the right-mouse-button-menu where you can
choose 'delete from index'?

Two points:

1. Rebuilding the index can take less than 1/2 hour for me -- IF I stay
away from the keyboard and mouse for that time. After 45 seconds with no
keyboard or mouse (=user) activity, the index ramps up to building at full
speed. But if you touch the keyboard again, indexing speed will again be
reduced until you stay off the keyboard for another 45 seconds. And if you
are continually using the keyboard and mouse, yes it may take many hours to
finish rebuilding.

2. I usually have one or another reason to rebuild my search index about
once per month. It feels like one of those things that is 'good for' the
search system. And it is not a nuisance because I can go eat lunch or
something during the 1/2 hour rebuild. So, rebuild and enjoy your lunch!

Hope this is useful information.

If I don't touch the mouse it takes about 20 hours. This because I also index
program files and appdata.
