I would like to know if Word has the capacity to automatically create an
index of frequently used words and then subject them to deletion upon
inspection afterwards. For example, a writer of a manuscript on English
learners would want freqently used technical terms indexed, but not common
words such as "and," the," "to," etc. This would avoid having to read
through the manuscript and choose words manually.

Hi, Patrick. Yes, Word can automatically mark index entries by using a
concordance file. Read about it in Word help, and post back if you have
specific questions.
