Does anyone know how to indent text in a cell, but just a
portion of the text, and not the whole cell?
any help would be appreciated
e.g. want it to look like this

Why would microsoft excel create this problem?

Assuming you have used ALT+ENTER to get your data in a single cell as show, then
just add a couple of spaces to the start of lines 2 and 3. Don't forget, Excel
is a spreadsheet, not a wordprocessor, so it's not going to do everything that
Word can, and vice versa.

Type in the first line then hit ALT + ENTER to create a line break.

Then type in 5 spaces then the next line of text and ALT + ENTER

Type in 5 spaces and next line of text and ENTER.

Set the row and column to "Autofit" and the cell to "wrap text".
