My Outlook (2003/ XP Pro) is running up against the 2 GB size limit.

I have read of some way to increase it to 20 GB by copying the .pst file to
a different format/directory (?)

Do you know how I would do that?

you need to make a new pst in the Unicode format and copy or import the
items in the old pst.

Thanks, Diane:

How do I make a "new pst file in the Unicode format"?

Do I copy my existing pst file somehow?

Is there a straight forward set of commands/actions?

Thank YOU!

File>New>Outlook Data File.

Yes, or you can use a tool someone mentioned a day or to ago to convert:

I think that copying is straight-forward, the above tool may be more useful.
After using it, you should make the new PST your delivery location using the
Mail applet in Control Panel.

File, New, Outlook Data file - choose the Outlook pst, not Outlook 97/2002
format. Go to tools, Accounts, view or change existing accounts and set the
new pst as the default delivery location. Close outlook and reopen it.

Either use File, Export or just select items and drag to the new pst. If you
use subfolders, just drag the top level folder - as long as it's not one of
Outlook's default folder, it will move everything under it.
