Increasing number of documents in recent document list

In Excel, as in most MS programs, you can click on File and see a list of
recently opened documents for that program. Is there a way to increase the
number of documents viewable in this history with a reg key or something?
 
Tools>Options>general, and set the value in Recently used file list
