Increase size of Start menu?

Is there any way to increase the size of the piddling little menu that hangs
off the Start button in Vista so that I don't have to scroll up and down the
list when I go to All Programs? The menu occupies less than 40% of the
vertical height (1600 pixels) of my primary screen, and having to scroll up
and down is a waste of time.

In short, no, the height is fixed. Rather then scrolling, try typing
the first letter or two of the item you're looking for, Vista searches
faster then you can scroll.

Hi,
Right click on the start orb and select properties, then Start menu and
Customize. Then increase the number of recent programs to display ( I use
20)
this will increase the size of the whole area including Programs.

Now this is weird -- On my laptop I can't seem to change that number at
all, so when I went to test this, I got quite different results.

On my desktop it works fine.

Odd. Apologies to all regarding my previous post, looks like I have a
different issue.

Thanks. That works to a point. Looks like 30 is that maximum value it will
accept in that field. Anything higher gets changed to 30.
