Inconsistent connections

I am working out of a hotel room in Florida. I have a
good knowledge of Win2000 but have little experience with
XP.

I have been trying to network a PC and laptop through a
Linksys wireless-b with inconsistent results. I can get
connection one way but not the other.

I also tried disabling the wireless and going through CAT
with similar results. And the results will be
inconsistent, wotking one time and then failing the next.

I can ping both ways fine, guest accounts are active and
the results do not change if the firewall is disabled.

File sharing is configured correctly on both computers.
Thanks for any suggestions.

assuming you can ping ip, it could be master browser issue.
