incompatible issue when using DOS program wif Windows XP

program.. it will some how hang, blue screen and appear
error message .. im using Windows XP Pro..

Could the problem, perhaps, be related to the DOS program you are using?
Are the error messages you see any clue?

Not all DOS applications are compatible with Windows XP.
Use the search in the Help and Support on the Start menu for

compatibility

and also for

pif file

It may well be a DOS program that is badly behaved - for example trying
to handle hardware for itself, which is absolutely prohibited in XP.
The Error code in the blue screen might give a better clue
