A few days ago my outlook stop recieving incoming mail. I have Win XP, all
updates are up to date. Internet is working. Microsoft office pro 2003.
Nothing has changed on computer settings. On my laptop outlook still works.
has the same profile as my other computer. the error message is as follows.

Task 'Kris Diaz - Receiving' reported error (0x8004210A) : 'The operation
timed out waiting for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you
continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'

Any help would be great.

What is your default timeout for this machine? Does increasing it to 10
minutes help?

Default timeout is 1min, i did 10 mins and it does not seem to assist my
problem, just makes it longer wait. It use to work w/ the same exact setings.

Windows firewall settings change perhaps?
A Windows Update install might have increased the level of security?

Firewall is the same as before, and it is still acting up. Will not DL
messages from server. It sends messages still but will not DL.
