Incoming mail no longer displays "print screen" shots & other grap

2003--When I receive e-mail and a "print screen" shot was placed within the
e-mail, I used to be able to see it. Now all I see is a blank box.

If I FORWARD the screen shot, it becomes visible. This happens all the
time. Also have this issue with MOST images that are contained IN the
e-mail. I have no problem if a file is attached to the e-mail.

As far as I know nothing has changed in our environment. I've asked for
help here, but no one can find the cause.
 
what type of email account and mail server? Do you have all the latest
updates?

I'm a user not IT saavy. How can I obtain this info for you to help me
further? Our IT department does updates and they claim all updates have been
applied.
