Incoming mail disappears and doesn't go to inbox

When I click send/receive, it shows I am receiving mail, and even makes the
ding; the envelope is in the toolbar in the bottom right corner of my window,
BUT the mail isn’t in my inbox. Nothing comes up as new mail. I can send mail
without any issue, and when I send mail from say, yahoo, it sends without any
errors, but doesn’t come through my outlook (which contains email through a
different provider).

I have Outlook 2003 and all updates are current according to Microsoft update.

Check your View filter settings. View, Arrange by....set it to Messages. OL
cannot do free Yahoo mail unless you've paid for Yahoo POP mail.

All our filters are correct. We're not using yahoo mail in outlook. I'm just
using yahoo as an example - if anyone sends me an email to my outlook mail,
it shows it being downloaded, but doesn't show up in any folder at all - like
it never existed.

I am having this exact same problem too. I am also having an additional
issue where I am being told my pst file is too large and I cant copy or alter
appointments, dismiss reminders etc. I do not know if both issues are
related or not. John

I am so confused by our Outlook issue - I put our mail server info into
Outlook Express and it works fine. Don't like Express, but at least we know
it's an Outlook problem. Hope someone has a clue as to what the Outlook deal
is.
