Incoming e-mails are showing up as an attachment also

When I receive an incoming e-mail there is an attachment that when I open the
attachment it is the same text as the e-mail. How do I change this?

That's generally controlled by the sender. They're sending you a multipart
message that most likely is the message both in HTML and in Plain Text.
