I would like to create some instructional presentations with narrated audio
for each slide.

1. Is there a limit to how much audio can be imported into a .PPT file?

2. What audio format is recommended for .PPT?

3. Can audio narration be triggered on or off by a button?

Thanks!

1. 50Mb if its embedded you will need to change the setting in tools >
options > general "link sounds with...." to 50000 though

2. For me WAV others may disagree but they cause less trouble

3. Yes use custom animation > effects > triggers

So can multiple individual audio files be embedded? One audio file for one
slide, maybe two on another slide, etc.

Thanks!

Is that 50mb per embedded audio file or for all combined embedded audio
files?

Thanks again!

Keep in mind that just 20- 50 mb sound files will push just the audio
portion of the presentation over a GB. It will take a long time to load and
may be more susceptible to file corruption. It will also be a bit of a bear
to transport.

If the presentation does not need to be transported, than most of the
problems with linked files go away. Catch-22, but true.

You sound like you would benefit from learning about how sound files are
handled in PowerPoint, so you can maximize the functionalities available.
