inbox repair tool

I started Outlook. It came up with a CATASTROPHIC error message. However,
outlook opened and I was able to sync data to my pda.
I tried to export a .pst file to a jump drive. No such luck...it comes up
with an error message telling me to use inbox repair tolls and scan & repair.
I have done this.
It performs all 8 steps and displays a complete message. However, it still
gives an error message when I try to export a pst file to back up the file.
I am able to open the Outllook file still.
Any ideas?
