Inactivity Status questions

Chris

Has the "Show me as "Away" when I'm active for X minutes" functionality
changed with Windows Messenger 5.0? Especially in comparison to 4.x versions
of MSN Messenger?

Users are reporting that with MSN Messenger 4.6, after their status changed
to Away, it would remain such until they specifically interacted with the
Messenger client--at which time their status would change to Online. They
are reporting that now with WM5 *any* activity they perform outside of
WM5--even moving the mouse--causes their status to change to Online.

Also, what is the significance/effect of setting the number of minutes to
zero?

Greetings Chris,

It should be exactly the same and the way it's supposed to be working is the way you
described it working in Windows Messenger 5. If it was working different with MSN Messenger
4.6, then it wasn't working properly.

Settings the number of minutes to 0 in MSN Messenger 4.6 used to set the client to Away when
it opened (until you moved the mouse), in Windows Messenger 5 it doesn't really do anything
however (at least in my testing).
