I want to create a directory of departments that shows only the main phone
number for each department. However, I want a separte list of department
staff to popup when I hover over the department name. And, I don't want the
popup lists to print.

Example:
Information Technology
Admin. Center, Building A, Suite 500
Fax 1051

I want a list of all the staff in Information Technology to popup when I
hover over Information Technology, but I don't want this list visible unless
I hover or print when I send the main list to the printer.

Anyone know how to do this in Word 2003?

This document will be shared with coworkers via a web page.

Since the end product will be a webpage, and these are web techniques
that you want, it may be easier just to create the page and the popups
in some sort of web editor.

However, you can fake it in Word. Make the department name a Hyperlink
that goes nowhere (make it a link within the document and enter # in the
link to box), and write a custom ScreenTip for the Hyperlink that shows
the hover content.

I don't think it will print, but test it.

Side note: this sounds kind of annoying to use, to me. Sounds like a
lot of information to put in a screentip. Actually, screentips might be
limited to 255 characters, and I don't know if they can have linebreaks.
