In Word Doc Text gone but appears on print preview

Have an 8 page word document of 198k but no text! header info appears as
usual. In print preview you can see all the text. Where has it gone and how
do I get it back?

Tools > Options > View > Hidden text and Tools > Options > Print > Hidden
text ?

Yes. The doc is an application form downloaded from a website with textboxes
to be filled out.

Andra. Tried all your steps. Still nothing. The doc is a downloaded form with
text boxes that I have filled in....could that make a difference.
I find that when I close the print preview screen, the text appears on the
document for 1-2 secongs before going. Thanks though "gordon"

Suzanne.....Thanks for the lead. I went to the original website and found
that the document sheets were blank. I went to <insert> <textbox> and voila!
everything appeared. It worked on my copy with the important data as well.

That's probably because you were in Normal view, in which objects in the
drawing layer (including text boxes) are not displayed. When you choose Text
Box from the Insert menu, Word switches to Print Layout view.
