In Vista 64 bit running IE, no Flash?

I don't know how to tell if my Internet Explorer is 32 or 64 bit (installed
form Ultimate 64 bit disk), or if that has anything to with the fact that
when I go to a website running flash, IE doesn't go for it. A friend gave me
his business card, and when I go to his site, a dialog comes up saying it's
installing Flash, but uh uh. I looked a little on the internet, and only saw
old indications of problems. Question is, how do we get flash working for IE
in 64 bit Vista? - Thanks, IM

To further expand...

Vista x64 comes with IE7 (and Media Player 11) in both 32 and 64-bit
flavors. This is because the vast majority of plugins are 32-bit and
won't work with the 64-bit IE7. Flash is one such plugin. There is
no 64-bit flash player. Adobe says they are working on it, but until
they actually do, Flash is strictly 32-bit (even 64-bit Linux doesn't
have it).

Also, Vista x64 (and XP64) use the 32-bit IE as the *default* browser,
so the little "e" on the desktop and quicklaunch are in fact the 32-
bit IE. You need to go out of your way to launch the 64-bit IE unless
you change those shortcuts. In Vista it's on the "Start" menu near
the top, and is identified as Internet Explorer (64-bit). Again, this
is done because they assume you want access to the most compatible
browser for plugins. If you forget what browser you're in you can
always check under Help->About.and if it doesn't specifically say "64-
bit Edition" then it's not.

For most users who want access to Flash and other things, the 32-bit
browser is recommended.

And, as in the case of my computer, Flash doesn't necessarily work on 32 bit
editions either unless UAC is turned off.
