In Outlook is there a way to mark an email as replied to?

When I was using Outlook Express (a month ago I changed over to Outlook) when
I replied to an email, there automatically showed an arrow on the message in
my inbox that connoted I had replied. I could always tell by looking at
messages whether I had replied. How do I do that in Outlook?
