In Outlook 2003 I was able to add and edit the contacts field in my tasks.
Now in Office 2007 I can only view contacts that were created in Outlook 2003
and can no longer add or edit. Is there a way to make the contacts field
editable?

I've been working with OL2003 until september last year. Since then, we got
OL2007 and i am very sorry but i really don't see what you want to do...
In both versions I never saw any contact field on a task ?!?
Could you be more clear or ask your question diffrently?

In Outlook we can pick what fields to display through the Field Chooser by
right clicking in Tasks. Our users enter their point of contact for a task in
the task field and then we query that dataset for reporting. In Outlook 2007
the fields are still there but the contact field does not allow adds or
edits.

I have created several tasks and still can not add or edit the contacts
field in Outlook 2007. In Outlook 2003 I can go right in and add and modify
the contacts field.

Hope this helps

Ok , now i see what you mean... be carefull: if you look closely, among the
"all tasks fields" in OL2007 there is a "CONTACT" field and a "CONTACTS"
field. I just tested and found out that only the "CONTACT" field is editable.
Whatever i enter there is automatically copied to the "CONTACTS" field (don't
ask me why...)

That did it thanks. It looks like the default column in OL2007 is Contacts
which was preventing us from making modifications
