I am creating a Excel sheet, in which I need to give number bullets in the
series of cells, so that I can renumber the bullets on addition or removal of
row.
The number bullet should be the part of the excel cell like ...
"1. Verify abcd on screen A"
"2. Verify xyz on screen G"
Here I would like to say that I can insert one extra column for just the
numbering, but is not good for the document I am creating due to some other
complication on the same document.
Thanks in advance for your expert advice. - Alpesh

Hi
this is AFAIK not supported in Excel. So you'll have to use a separate
column

In row 7 I entered this ="( "&ROW()-6 &") abc"
I copied it down 10 rows
When I inserted or deleted a row the behaviour seems to be as you require

best wishes

Bernard, Good try and is really good thinking.

But this will work when we have starting row number for
each group is the fix number and either if we have same
text for all cell or the actual text we are keeping in
different column for each row. This will not work when
adding and deleting any row previous to the first row of
each group or if you would not like to keep the duplicate
columns for text.

Thanks for your reply - Alpesh

Sometimes, it's easier using the builtin tools in MSWord. That application has
nice outlining capabilities.
