In Access 2007 - How do I display Object Properties

Dave

In 2003 there was a detail view that allowed the Object Properties comments
to be displaed when reviewing Tables, Queries, etc. How do i do that in 2007?

In the navigation pane click on the object then right click.

In design view forms, reports, and tables have an icon on the ribbon for
property. It has a hand holding a sheet of data from the right top.

Hi Karl

Is there no way to show the description in a detail list as in 2003?

Thanks for responding

Dave

Are you speaking of the Documenter? If so, click on Database Tools -
Database Documenter.

From reports I've heard, I think that's correct. That display was removed,
and various people have complained.

yes, right click on the top nav pane bar, and choose view.

You can view by details, icon, or list..

If you view by details, then you see the descriptions...

Actually, you can display the descriptions. (right click nav
bar->viewby ->details

What people like our wonderful MVP Tom Wickerath has mentioned is that you
can longer sort by the description field.

So, we can display descriptions, but the ability to sort by description is
now gone. What this means if you used descriptions to "group" your objects,
then this becomes a problem....

I am showing details. I wish I knew a way here to embed a picture. No
descritption coumn shows. I can right click the object and see the
description, but I want to see all of the descriptions listed.

Unfortunate for me I documented the Tables, Queries and macros with
explanations so others understod their purpose. In 2003 this was easy to do,
by selecting details.

Am I missing something? I am afraid someone thought to remove features was
a great idea.

If this is true, it is a show stopper.

Picture???? Now you lost me!...

Gee, that is gone.

On my test machine with access 2007 (sp1 installed), the descriptions DO IN
FACT display when I view my details.

On my dev machine, with access sp2, the descriptions do NOT display.

So, this is bug far as I can tell. that why I mentioned that I COULD display
the descriptions before...and I knew I had done this.

Now, with sp2..the descriptions don't display. (for both sp1, an sp2 we can
right click->properties...but in sp1, the descriptions display when I view
by details....).

I shall have to report this as a bug....

I would just like to add...PLEASE BRING THAT FEATURE BACK!!! Sorry for
yelling, but I'm serious. I need to see and sort my DB object
descriptions. I don't want to have to live without that.

Thank you!

Sean
