Improper use of Network Identification Wizard

After using Network Identification Wizard and restarting, I can no longer log on to Windows 2000. I can describe what I did (and what I was trying to accomplish) if anybody thinks they might be able to help me rescue the situation. Thanks.

well, if you don't describe what you did then no one could help. if you do
describe then you might just find someone who knows what happened. just as
a wild guess did you end up joining or leaving a domain when you ran the
wizard??

thanks for the reply.

I created a network with the "no domain" opotion. I could
perfectly recreate my selections if exposed again to the
screens, but that is the only win2000 pc to which I have
access. I did not realize that my actions would have the
effect of separating me from my prior domain-based network
settings.

ah, so you were in a domain and now you aren't. try logging in again but
this time instead of just your user name use the old domain name slash your
old user name... like domain\username (or is the the other slash?? well
try domain/username if the other one doesn't work) in the user name box and
the old domain password for the password. this 'should' let you in with the
cached domain credentials. you should also be able to login with just the
local machine admin account if you had one. getting you back on the domain
will probably require a domain admin to remove the old machine account and
recreate it, but ask them first before you try anything else.
