to add to my previous question, when I put in the names listed after using
the * *, the response is "not a supported file type, cannot be imported".
How do I find out what file type this DVD is? I also tried to use Windows
Media player, and got the same reponse about not being a supported "file
type". Help!

Does it play on a stand alone dvd player for the tv?
Some files made on standalone players won't work on Computers.

Jerry....yes it play on my DVD player and my computer. It seems that the
file type has to be an MPG file, not VOB file. It seems very complicated to
convert it to the correct file type. I cannot believe that a home video can
be so hard to share with my family. Guess I will just get it copied and mail
it out instead. So much for my $1,300 purchase of the family computer!
