Importing Registry

A

Allan Browne

I have just re-installed winXp Pro over an existing
installation, and would like to know if there is a way to
import the old registry so all the programmes that are
already installed will work, save me re-installing them.
There is only one account on the machine, all programme
files are still intact, but need the registry entries to
work (of course). Any help would be appreciated and time

If you didn't export the registry before you reinstalled
you're out of luck. If you did you already have all the
tools you need to do it.

Hello!
As you have reinstalled XP so it has now a fresh "good"
registry. Now if you want to import the old registry then
there is every possibility of ending to a mess up.Best
thing is to install all fresh (if the other programs are
backed up in CD then it's a different thing).Registry is
the brain of an operating system, so handle it with utmost
care.
