this is probably an easy one for an expert.

I wish to import music trax fom an old disc player onto
harddrive thru media player so as to save to cd How do
you do it?. also wish to upload this cd onto winmx

I believe you are asking how to rip audio tracks from a commercial CD to mp3
format so that you can share them. If so, use this excellent freeware:
http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ Do not use the problematic WMP to create wma
files.

Invest in GOldwave - it will let you record to hard disk from a turntable
(plug your HiFi into the line-in of your soundcard). You can then get rid of
turntable rumble and filter out any other noise. Then normalise the sound
and use Nero if you can afford it to burn the CD's. TO avoid conflicts
you'll have to disable the WMP burning Service.

Once you've burnt the CD, before deleting them, convert the wave files on
your hardisk into mp3's, using Goldwave. Avialable from :
