Importing/linking any excel spreadsheet causes Access to crash

Ive tried 3 ways of importing excel spreadsheets, opening them via file>open,
file import and insert. All three crash access as soon as I select the file
to import. I have also tried numerous excel spreadsheets.
I've reregistered dll's, reinstalled office, and removed and installed
office. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Found a solution in replacing my msjet40.dll in my C:\windows\system32\cache
and
C:\windows\system32 with one prior to SP1. Works fine now.
