Hi,

I'm importing a web page into Excel. The web page contains a table of
file info such as PRIMARY | SECONDARY | FILE NO.

I import all 3 columns OK, apart from some instances of file number.

At times, the file no. translates incorrectly to a date e.g 10/3 ends
up incorrectly as 10-Mar-1900 rather than remaining as 10/3

Has anyone any clues on how I can convert these instances back to a
real "file number".

Formatting as General or Text doesn't seem to do the trick.

Tks, Kay

You may find the easiest(?) method is to copy that data and paste into Notepad.
Then save that file as something.txt.

Then open something.txt in excel. You'll be able to specify how each field
should be treated (date or text or general...).
