Importing HTML into Word 2000

I understand that there is an HTML converter which it uses to open an .html
file and convert it to a .doc file.

I was wondering what types of style information found in the .html file the
HTML converter is able to reconginize.

Of particular interest to me is if the HTML converting takes into account
the content of cascading style sheets referenced or found in the .html file.
In my tests when I used a cascading style sheet to change the font of the
tag <h1>, this had no effect on the converted document. Is this expected
behavior? (Or, hopefully, it should work, and I am just doing it wrong :)

Perhaps the preferred way to control the content of the converted document
is to change the style of the template document?

Your input is appreciated.

Bob,
Internet Explorer is not even compatible with some of the
functions of CSS2 and requires hacks for cross browser use.
If MS doesn't today implement CSS2 compatability in IE 6.0 than it's very
unlikely that any closeness of compatability would be possible in retaining
CSS in Office 2000 docs.

PDF has a much better cross-format retention platform.
