importing format of Report into access

Hi there... hope there's somebody to help me out.....

my problem is thus.... I right now use ms word to print my
invoices...... Since my invoice is in a preprinted format i have
created a word document template that represents my pre-printed invoice
and i enter in that the details i require (like qty, rate, taxes etc).
The problem i have is that i have to save each invoice as a file and
that runs into thousands.... So i thought of using access database...
I have created all the data entry forms necessary.... i need to only
design the report for printing.... and since i am lazy to design the
report all over again (my pre-printed form is pretty complex and
tight..... so misalignments during printing would cause trouble) i
would like to know if there is any mechanism by which i could import
the template into the report directly.....

or at least if i could export the data from access into word so that
the data goes directly into the appropriate cell ( the template is
totally a table by the way)....

if there isn't any other way...please lemme know coz i'll have to start
designing the report all over :(

One way to handle this is to modify your Word invoice template to have
fields, keep the pertinent data in Access, export as "mail merge" which you
merge with your Word template. In the long run, you'll likely be better off
if you _do_ invest the time and energy to create an Access report with which
you can use your pre-printed forms, or simply create an Access report to
_replace_ those forms (which likely will be a saving in the long run).

Thanks for the reply Larry... and thanks to u too Jeff.... I guess i'll
try out the mail merge idea and if that doesn't work out, replace my
pre-printed forms (they would be out of stock soon ) by a formatted
report from access... :)... Thanks again !!!!
