Importing Excel to Access '97

When I try to select the file to import, excel is not one
of the valid file types that I can choose. There is no
form on this db so it's not under form control. I've tried
reinstalling and that is not helping. Is there some filter
somewhere that is preventing me from doing this>

Look for the file msexcl35.dll on your hard drive (it should be in the
System folder) and use regsvr32.exe to reregister it.
