Importing Excel into Access '97

I'm experiencing a problem with importing excel files into
Access '97. When I go to 'Get External Data' and
then 'Import' the option to import .xls files is not
there. The .txt and .htm options are also not in the drop
down box. Does anyone have any ideas how to get that to
show. Thanks for your help!

At the bottom of the dialog box you will see info on how
to add file types. You run the setup program (from control
panel), click add remove, change the data access options.
You may also use the office value pack to get add ins.
