Importing Date to Existing Table

I will be importing data to an existing Access 2003 database. This data will
be imported to an existing empty table that has fields formated and text has
been set to specific format. The data that I will be importing has the
fields set to text and format set to 255. When I import this data and append
to my table will my setting override the import table settings? or vise
versa. Thank you.

The data should be appended to the format of the table providing that format
is compatable.
Dates are a little tricky since the format in the table should match the
format in the source data. If the dates are entered full length (Tuesday 11
February 2007) and you want to store it as 02/11/2008 you may have a problem.
Be careful of numbers. If you have a number field in your source data and
the table is set to text, the numbers will be imported, but as text. You
won't be able to do any math functions with them.
