Importing columns from an Excel Table into Access

I don't know if this is possible or not, but I would love any ideas and help
on how to accomplish it. I have an excel table and I need to import some of
the columns into access, as a table. This table will have to be updated
regularly on a weekly bases with new data from the excel table.
I need to know first, if this is possible and secondly how to write the
code to accomplish it. I have never written code to import excel files into
access before and I am not even sure how to start. Any help in the right
direction will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Ayo.

From your description, it sounds like you are trying to "move" a copy of
data from Excel to Access, and then possible renew what you have in Access
from another set of data from Excel each week.

Another option would be to start in Access, link to the Excel spreadsheet
and NEVER have to move a copy of data.

(but I can't be sure from your description whether the data is "new" or
"update" or ...?)

I import Excel data ino Access all the time, I dont use any code.
Just do a file import & select the columns required from Excel.
If you are unly using it as a reference in Access (That is all I do), then
every week re import the new Excel file using the same name & all your
queries/reports will still run.
I hope that is what you are trying to do.

There are new data every week so that the data in access will be updated with
the data from excel. And since the people we are doing this for are not so
sarvy with access, we want to create a button for them in access that would
do the importing from excel and append the data into the old data in access.
This way they can just keep usingthe access database that we setup for them
and the only thing they will need to do, weekly, is to update their database.
We don't want to be manageing their data for them. We just want them to be
able to get the data into access and manage it they way they want, as they
are doing right now.
So how mission now is to figure out a way for them to be able to get the
data from excel into access, on a weekly basic, without and problems or
headaches.

I think as previous poster (Jeff) has said, link it to the Excel data, no
updating required.
