Importing Business Cards or Pictures ?

We are a little confused on how to insert graphics or pictures into a
contact record or document. Perhaps it will help to individually identify
our concerns:

FIRST, we don't see any integrated menu option for acquiring images directly
from our scanner or camera either in Outlook or in any other Office 2007
application. Is Microsoft Clip Organizer the only application that can
acquire an image from a scanner or all-in-one? If so, is there a simple way
to get the picture from Clip Organizer into the contact's 'Picture' field?
DILEMMA: 1) If I try to drag from Clip Organizer onto the picture field, I
get a red slash/circle which indicates it is not a legal operation, but I
can add the picture to the 'Notes' area. 2) If I try to open the image from
the hard drive I have to jump all kinds of hoops to find where the Clip
Organizer has saved the scan and then navigate and access it. 3) Even drag
and drop, versus a direct 'Acquire' option, can be a pain if the Clip
Organizer and application windows happen to overlap each other. Why don't
the INSERT image options in Microsoft Office Suite applications give us a
direct 'Acquire from Scanner or Camera' option?

SECOND, we can apparently only have one picture associated with a contact.
This presumption is based on the fact that using the 'Picture' option from
the options section of the Outlook 2007 toolbar, to add a second picture,
only allows us to change or remove the picture. Is this picture option
intended to be a picture of the person, of their actual business card, or
either one?

THIRD, if we want to see a copy of a contacts business card, sometimes of
both sides, how do we do that and also retain a picture of the contact?
Where are third party business card scanners, especially duplex scanners,
placing the image of the business card?

There are any number of programs that will acquire images from a
TWAIN-compliate scanner. Your scanner probably came with one.

If so, is there a simple way to get the picture from Clip Organizer
into the contact's 'Picture' field?

First, determine where Clip Organizer stores images. See this to help:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834603/en-us. Then open a Contact record,
click the image placeholder, browse to the folder where Clip Organizer has
the images, select the image, and click OK.

The image placeholder in a contact record has limited operational ability.
The only way I know to add an image to it is as I described.

Not really. By default, they're in %UserProfile\My Documents\My
Pictures\Microsoft Clip Organizer, a logical location.

other. Why don't the INSERT image options in Microsoft Office Suite
applications give us a direct 'Acquire from Scanner or Camera'
option?

Then use another tool that's more to your liking. Tons of them are readily
available for download from the Internet and many are free.

It's intended to be the contact's picture.

Attach the images to the notes pane. You'll have to open the attachment,
however. The notes pane won't preview the item for you.
