Importing An ODBC Table

I use Access to import an ODBC table that contains over 900,000 records. I
use the TransferDatabase function in a macro to import the table. This
procedure takes an inordinate amount of time - 90+ minutes to just transfer
the table (and then I run other queries as well). Is there a quicker way to
achieve this or is the large number of records the reason it takes so long to
finish?

Is there a reason a linked table won't work for you?

Unfortunately, with the licensing on this application I am unable to link to
this table therefore is must be imported. If it were something that I only
did monthly or weekly, it really wouldn't matter, but I end up spending a
number of hours each week wating on this import function as it ties my
computer up until it completes.

Then, I would suggest that you create a batch file that opens the database
and calls a macro to run your import. You can use a scheduler program to run
the program overnight.
