Importing a VCS file

Jeff McKay

Does anyone know what exactly Outlook 2003 is looking for when
it tries to import a VCS calendar file? VCS files that work fine with
Outlook 2002 now generate
the error "Import failed, the file may be corrupt... one or more parameters
are not valid". Outlook 2k3
even gives this same error on VCS files that it creates itself. Any help
appreciated.

The best way to find out is to save a couple of items as VCS files and look
at them. One thing I've learned is that Outlook doesn't support VTIMEZONE
elements, as you might have in a Mac-generated file.

As I mentioned, Outlook 2003 gives the same error when trying to import VCS
files that it created itself,
so that method does not work.

Can you include the text of a sample in your next post? I haven't had any
problems using Outlook 2003-created files with Outlook 2003. You might also
want to try creating a different mail profile with a clean .pst file for
testing and then importing.
