Importing a 2000 .pst file to 2003

I just got a new computer after 6 years (yay) and now have Office 2003 on XP
MCE. My life is in my 2000 .pst file and would love to import it into Office
2003. I have exported it, burned it to a cd. The file attributes (BEFORE
BURNING TO CD) are set to ARCHIVE; however, when it is burned to a CD it
somehow says "READ ONLY" and when I try to change the attributes to archive,
I'm told I don't have the rights to change the attributes, making it
impossible for me to import this file.

Has anyone done this yet and succeeded? My kingdom for some help!

You must copy the file to your local hard drive and turn off the read-only flag.

Hello
I've moved also vfrom OL2000 to OL2003
Do not export in OL2000, just copy the original *.pst File from your
directory (mostly in ...LocalSettings\Microsoft\Outlook\ *.pst)
search for pst files to find it
(Exit OL2000 and the copy the file)

do not import a pst, instead remove in OL2003 the original PST file, same
location or search it.
then EXIT OL2003, copy the pst file from OL2003 to the directory of OL2003
and then
start OL2003.
It opens the pst file, gives and error and close.
start OL2003 again
now all data is available.
To have the contacts in your adressbook, right click the contacts folder in
folderview, and selct properties
and then Outlook AdressBook Tab, select show as Adressbook

how to move the accounts from OL2000 to 2003??
I do not know it, and I've started a task with this qustion

Just in case Debra misses Remo's post, I will repeat what I answered him:
Unfortunate, as far as I know, one cannot import account iformation into
OL2002(XP) or 2003, as one could with previous versions. Recreated by hand is
the only answer left so far.

I do apologize if I am wrong, but I posted this same question a while back
and the answer that I got is the same that I gave here. Besides, I still have
not seen an Import option within Outlook, and though I still have all my
*.iaf files, they just sit there, useless.

If you do have a solution, and I imagine you do since you disagreed, why not
give it? I am sure Remo would appreciate it as much as I would.

My prior response to you was misguided as I failed to notice that the thread
had transitioned from PSTs to accounts and I hope you accept my heart-felt
apologies because, technically, you're correct about importing Internet
Account Files with Outlook. However, you should be able to use Outlook
Express on the new machine to import those .iaf files into Outlook Express
with Tools>Accounts>Import and then use Outlook to import those those
accounts directly from Outlook Express with File>Import and Export>Import
Internet Mail Account Settings.
