Import to Excel

When I am using MS Query to pull data from an Access db over to Excel, there is an options button that appears in the import dialog
box. It has check boxes to display Views, Tables, System Tables, and Synonyms. I can check any or all of those. What is this about?
 
Views = Queries
Tables = The obvious
System Tables = Hidden tables used by Access (all begin with MSys)
Synonyms = Not too sure, but I think they are linked tables
