Import PST file

G

Geoff

Using Office 2003, Outlook on Win XP.

We have two computers both running Outlook and one of these computers is
about to become redundant. I have saved two files (from one machine) named
Outlook.pst and archive.pst. Two questions: 1.If I transfer these to my
other copy of Outlook will I lose the original files to these imported ones?
It is important that I do not lose any original files!

2. How do I solve the problem if I am to lose the originals?

Thanks.

Don't import. Use File/Open/Outlook Data File and browse to where you've
saved the .pst files. When you open one, it will appear as a new folder
tree and you can copy mails, tasks, etc. to the original .pst without
losing what's already there.

And importantly dont locate these saved pst file in the outlook default
location as it will overwrite any existing data files.
Locate them in your Documents folder
